The Story

Just to clue you in, there's a story behind the name See 5 Studio. In September of 1999 I embarked on a long, working, vacation. My first day away, I sprinted into a lake way too fast and dove way too soon. The result of those few seconds of poor judgement was a burst-fracture of my C-5 vertebra. From that instant forward, I was incredibly lucky. The x-ray at right shows the titanium which the orthopaedic surgeon used to re-build a portion of my neck. He did an excellent job, and I am very thankful.

While recuperating, I started looking for a way to tie this rather pivotal incident into my business. You know — a constant reminder. I ended up changing the C to See, just for the visual reference (and the domain name), and let the 5 stand for the maximum number of disciplines I'll attempt to ply at once. Right now, I'm working with two - web development and photography (see www.matthewgarrett.biz) - though I'm slowly working my way toward a third. I'm curious to see what the other disciplines might be.

By the way, my alternate business name is Feet-First Productions.
